Ingredients

2 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)

1 tsp Asafoetida

1 tsp Mustard Seeds

1 tsp Cumin Seeds

2 no. Onion (chopped)

1 tbsp Garlic (chopped)

1 inch Ginger (chopped)

1 tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp Red Chilli Powder

to taste Salt

3 cup Water

Instructions

Wash rice and moong dal thoroughly with water.

Soak them together for a few minutes and drain the water.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker or deep pan.

Add cumin seeds, ginger, and green chili. Sauté briefly.

Add chopped vegetables if using and cook for a minute.

Add rice and moong dal to the cooker and mix well.

Add turmeric, salt, and water. Stir properly.

Close the lid and cook until soft and creamy.

Let the pressure release naturally before opening.

Serve hot with ghee, pickle, or curd.
