Ingredients

2 cups Whole Wheat Flour

to taste Salt

1 tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp Red Chilli Powder

1 tsp Garam masala Powder (Hot Spices)

2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste

as needed Water

Instructions

Step 1Prepare the Dough

1

In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, ghee, and salt. Mix these ingredients thoroughly with the flour until well incorporated.

2

Add the turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala, and ginger-garlic paste. Mix again to distribute the spices evenly.

3

Gradually add water while kneading to form a medium-soft dough. Ensure it is neither too hard nor too sticky.

4

Once kneaded, apply a little oil over the dough, cover it, and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 2Prepare the Khakras

1

After the resting period, knead the dough again for about a minute until it becomes smooth.

2

Take a small portion of the dough and dust it with whole wheat flour.

3

Roll the dough out as thin as possible. You can either use a cutter or a round plate to trim the edges into a perfect circle.

Step 3Cook the Khakras

1

Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium flame.

2

Place the rolled dough on the tawa and cook for 10 to 15 seconds on one side.

3

Flip the khakhra, lower the flame, and apply a small amount of oil.

4

Using a clean cloth, press down firmly on the khakhra while cooking. Keep flipping and pressing it repeatedly until all moisture is removed and the khakhra becomes stiff and crispy.

5

Remove from the heat and let it cool completely; it will turn even crunchier as it cools.
