Ingredients

1 cup Basmati Rice

2 tsp Cumin Seeds

2 cups Water

2 nos. Green Chilli

2 nos. Cardamom Seeds

2 nos. Bay Leaf

1 piece Cinnamon

few Cloves

as needed Clarified Butter (Ghee)

to taste Salt

Instructions

Place 1 cup of Basmati Rice in water and allow it to soak for 30 minutes.

Add a few teaspoons of ghee to a pan and heat it up.

Add the whole spices—cinnamon, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaves—to the hot ghee to infuse the flavor.

Stir in 2 teaspoons of Jeera (cumin seeds) followed by the sliced green chillies.

Add the soaked Basmati Rice to the pan and mix gently for about a minute.

Add salt to taste.

Pour in 2 cups of water and mix well. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
