Ingredients

2 tbsp Roasted Cumin Seeds

1 tbsp Black Salt

1 cup Mint Leaves

1 cup Coriander Leaves (chopped)

1 piece Lemon Juice

1 cup Water

as needed Cold Water

Place the roasted cumin seeds and black salt in a mortar and pestle. Pound them together until they reach a coarse, powdery consistency where small granules are still noticeable.

In a mixer or grinder, combine the fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, the prepared cumin and black salt powder, lemon juice, and 1/2 cup of water. Grind everything together well to form a smooth green paste.

Transfer the green paste into a jar or pitcher. Add cold water to the mixture and stir thoroughly to combine.

Taste the drink and adjust the levels of black salt or lemon juice according to your preference. Serve the Jaljeera chilled in a glass, garnished with a sprinkle of boondi if desired.
