Ingredients

1 cup sama rice

2 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)

2 Green Chilli (chopped)

1 tsp Ginger (grated)

1 medium Potato

1 cup Roasted Peanuts

Rock Salt

3 cups Water

few Curry Leaves

For garnishing Fresh Coriander

1 tsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

1

Wash the sama rice thoroughly and soak it in water for about 20 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.

2

Heat ghee in a pan or pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves, chopped green chilies, and grated ginger.

3

Add the cubed potatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften slightly.

4

Add the soaked sama rice and roasted peanuts. Stir gently to coat the grains with ghee.

5

Add water and sendha namak. Stir well.

6

Cover and cook on a low flame for about 10-12 minutes until the water is absorbed and the rice is fluffy. (If using a pressure cooker, cook for 1-2 whistles).

7

Turn off the heat, add lemon juice, and garnish with plenty of fresh coriander. Serve hot.
