Ingredients

1 bowl Sesame Seeds

1 bowl Jaggery

1 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)

3 tbsp Water

Instructions

1

In a pan, dry roast the sesame seeds on medium flame until they turn light golden brown and start popping. Remove and set aside in a plate.

2

In the same pan, add ghee and jaggery. Pour in water and cook on low flame until the jaggery melts completely. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes to remove any lumps.

3

Turn off the heat and stir the roasted sesame seeds into the melted jaggery syrup. Mix thoroughly.

4

Transfer the mixture to a plate and keep stirring to prevent premature setting. Once it cools down slightly, pulse the mixture in a mixer to get a coarse, semi-fine consistency.

5

Transfer the mixture to a plate. Use your hands to press and knead it into a flat, square shape. Use a spatula or rolling pin to tap and set it firmly. Cut into pieces while it is still warm, then allow it to cool completely before serving.
