Ingredients

225 g Sesame Seeds

220 g Jaggery

4 tsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)

1 tbsp Milk

4 Cardamom Seeds

Instructions

1

Roast the sesame seeds in a pan on low heat for 4–5 minutes until fragrant and slightly changed in color. Set aside to cool.

2

In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the ghee over low heat.

3

Add the crumbled jaggery to the pan and allow it to melt slowly. Do not let the jaggery boil.

4

Stir in the milk once the jaggery has melted; this helps keep the final texture soft.

5

Add the roasted sesame seeds and powdered cardamom to the pan. Mix thoroughly until every seed is well-coated with the jaggery mixture.

6

Immediately turn off the heat and transfer the mixture onto a tray lined with baking parchment.

7

Use a flat-bottomed bowl or cup to press and level the surface evenly.

8

Cut the flattened mixture into square or diamond shapes immediately before it cools and hardens.

9

Allow the pieces to cool completely before separating. Store in an airtight container.
