Ingredients

225 g Sesame Seeds

220 g Jaggery

4 tsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)

2 tsp Cardamom Powder

1 tbsp Milk

Instructions

1

Roast the sesame seeds in a pan over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes until they release a toasted aroma and change color. Set aside to cool.

2

In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over low flame.

3

Add the crumbled jaggery to the pan and allow it to melt slowly on low heat.

4

Once melted, stir in the milk to ensure the chikki remains soft and easy to bite.

5

When the jaggery begins to bubble, stir in the roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder. Mix thoroughly until all seeds are well-coated.

6

Remove from heat and transfer the mixture onto a tray lined with baking parchment.

7

Use a flat-bottomed bowl to press and level the surface evenly.

8

Immediately cut the flattened mixture into squares or diamonds while still warm, as it will harden quickly.

9

Allow the pieces to cool completely until they set and harden, then break them apart to serve.
