Ingredients

150 Sesame Seeds

140 Jaggery

Water

1 Black Cardamom

1 Cardamom Powder

1 Baking Soda

1 Clarified Butter (Ghee)

Instructions

1

Roast the sesame seeds on low heat until fragrant and slightly golden. Remove from the pan and set aside.

2

In the same pan, melt the crushed jaggery with a dash of water. Stir continuously until it reaches a thick, syrup-like consistency.

3

Check the jaggery by dropping a small amount into cold water; it should harden and be easy to snap.

4

Stir in the baking soda, cardamom powder, and black cardamom seeds. The mixture will become frothy.

5

Fold in the roasted sesame seeds, keeping a small amount aside for later use.

6

Add ghee for shine and mix thoroughly. Switch off the heat.

7

Transfer the mixture to a greased tray. Once slightly cooled but still warm, lightly wet your hands and shape the mixture into small, flat rounds.

8

Press the shaped pieces into the reserved sesame seeds for a traditional look.

9

Allow the candies to cool and harden completely before serving.
