Ingredients

1 l Full-Fat Milk

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Cream (Malai)

1 tsp Cardamom Powder

For garnishing Pistachio

Instructions

1

Pour 1 1/2 liters of full-fat milk into a pan and bring it to a boil over low heat. Stir continuously to ensure it doesn't overflow or stick to the bottom.

2

Continue cooking and stirring the milk until it reduces to at least three-fourths of its original quantity.

3

Once the milk thickens and starts forming small lumps, add 1/2 cup of sugar. Keep stirring continuously.

4

Add 1/2 cup of malai to the mixture. This step is optional but helps keep the pedas soft.

5

Continue stirring, using a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the pan to prevent burning, until the mixture reaches the consistency of a soft mawa.

6

Add 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder and mix well.

7

Turn off the flame, spread the mawa in the pan, and let it cool for about 2 minutes. Then, transfer it to a plate to cool for a few more minutes until it's slightly warm.

8

Take a portion of the warm mawa, shape it into a small round ball, and flatten it slightly. Garnish with half a pistachio.
