Ingredients

4 large Banana

150 Jaggery

1 cup Water

as needed Clarified Butter (Ghee)

1 tsp Cardamom Powder

4 Cashew Nuts

Instructions

1

Peel the bananas and cut them into small, manageable pieces.

2

Place the banana pieces into a mixer jar and grind them into a smooth, fine paste.

3

In a saucepan, combine water and jaggery. Heat until the jaggery melts completely, then strain the syrup and set it aside.

4

Heat a little ghee in a wide saucepan and roast the cashew nuts until they turn golden brown. Remove and set them aside.

5

In the same pan, add a bit more ghee and pour in the banana paste. Cook on medium flame for about 10 minutes until it thickens and changes color.

6

Pour in the strained jaggery syrup and add a couple of teaspoons of ghee. Mix well and cook on low flame for 15–20 minutes.

7

Stir in the cardamom powder and an extra teaspoon of ghee, cooking for another 5 minutes.

8

Add the roasted cashews to the mixture and cook for a final 5 minutes until it forms a consistent mass.

9

Grease a tin with ghee, transfer the halwa into it, and spread it evenly.

10

Allow it to set for 30 to 45 minutes, then cut into pieces and serve.
